Valentine’s day is such a great day to show your friends, family, boyfriends and girlfriends that you care about them. Nicole and I have been trying to get together for ages to do a collaborative post based around balloons and thought it would be super to create a Valentine’s Day DIY project.
I decided to create my balloon decoration using eucalyptus as it has such a good colour and smells great too. To create the hearts I wired two stems and then used floral tape to secure the ends (you can buy both items from your local hobby craft). I then filled a 3ft latex balloon in rose with helium and attached the gold ribbon to its base. The eucalyptus hearts were then tied at different intervals down the ribbon.
I was really happy with the end result and it would definitely make me smile if a balloon like this was left outside my door on the 14th of February! Thanks so much to Steve for shooting (and putting up with) our balloon antics too!
Check out Nicole’s creation on her blog post here (it’s more edible than mine)!
Have you got any Valentine’s day DIY projects planned?
